We're starting our Amateur Student Instructor programme in 2025. Find out more below.

Amateur Student Instructor

The Amateur Student Instructor qualification is designed for experienced dancers who assist qualified teachers with their classes to get a basic teaching qualification, whilst under the supervision of the qualified teacher.

  • You will commence a programme of study under a qualified teacher

    • Current Teachers: Adele Marsh of Live to Dance EU

  • You will be required to demonstrate both the Leading & Following roles of a restricted syllabus (see below)

  • You will need to submit a DBS check and First Aid certificate when applying to take the end of study assessment

  • Studying is at your own pace, although there is a 3 year time limit from commencement of registration of study

  • Attendance at regular Improvers / Bronze level or above Ballroom & Latin classes is recommended to ensure you are dancing at a minimum of Bronze level in your own medal tests. You should continue to take your own Amateur  medal tests from Bronze onwards whilst studying for the ASI qualification.

  • You will be invited to attend Zoom Calls, Private Lessons & Group sessions specifically for ASI students, along with a mock exam before finally applying to be assessed.

  • You can progress to the Advanced Student Instructor programme and later to Associate, Licentiate or Fellowship.
